Grupo de Adocao: Labours of Love Adoption (LOLA)

Labours of Love Adoption (LOLA)

Share and Learn Group

If you are an adoptive parent of a child from birth to 12, or a potential adoptive parent, I would love to hear from you! I would like to start a group in the Oakville area for adoptive parents, wishing to meet others....to talk, share, learn, laugh, and cry if needed! Meetings will take place at an Oakville Parent-Child Centre location, time and details to be determined. I am an adoptive Mom, and author of "Labours of Love" Canadians Talk About Adoption, also becoming active in the adoption community. Please contact me with your interest in becoming part of a group of this nature...I hope to establish this group for a meeting in April 2009.

Look forward to your interest!

What You Need to Navigate Your Family Through The Recession

The Oakville Parent-Child Centre
invites you to attend this educational and enjoyable speaker event...

Dollars and Sense:
What You Need to Navigate Your Family Through
The Recession

Thursday, April 16th
7:00 - 9:00 p.m.
Willis Hall, Appleby College
540 Lakeshore Road, Oakville

If you're tired of all the economic doom and gloom, take this opportunity to meet with other parents and hear from one of Halton's very own business experts and media pundits: Steve Howse.

As Adjunct Professor at DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University, Howse is regularly quoted in the Toronto Star and Hamilton Spectator, and is often interviewed on CHML radio and on CHCH and CTV.

What does it really mean to be in a global recession?
How is Canada's economy affected by the recession?
How does this impact us here in Halton Region?
What can each of us do to navigate our families through it?
Steve will separate the facts from the fiction. His engaging presentation will help you put the current crisis in perspective and make sense of the economy. All are welcome to attend.
